Extract from the last order to the Chief of the special unit "Sonnenuntergang" (Sunset) of April 16, 1945:

"The task could not be completed as ordered. We are trapped near ******* and are forced to surrender. As a compromise the task material has been hidden in the battle arena of ******* and the entrance blasted. Whoever will be able to escape from this encircled area will take these writings along. We are forced to surrender, since we have neither ammunition nor enough able soldiers to stave off a tank assault. Map enclosed.

International secret services as well as the Stasi (state security service of the German Democratic Republic) tried, partly successfully, to locate SS personnel involved in the transporting and securing of these cultural goods.

It was found that the Amber Room for example had not been loaded at Königsberg onto the Wilhelm Gustloff and sunk with it, but was transported on lorries. Lack of petrol and the military situation of the moment prevented them to be brought to the storage places that were originally envisaged.

In the Stasi and among scientists of the former GDR there was a sworn group that had decided not to let these treasures fall into Soviet hands. Therefore they handed the Milke ministry falsified documents. After the Wall came down, they were of the opinion that these information should also not get into the hands of the Western Powers or the Federal Republic of Germany.

The philosophy of the Principality of Sealand convinced them that the knowledge about the where-abouts of these cultural goods would be in good hands there, they entrusted respectively sold to the Sealand Government documents about the storage locations. These are still the property of Sealand.

Sealand tried in vain to get a salvage licence from the Federal Republic of Germany. Such licences apparently were only granted for locations of which one was certain that nothing was to be found there, as a multitude of licensed but futile searches has shown.

Finally in 1999 the Commissary Government of the German Reich of the SHAEF Legislator USA granted Sealand the licence to excavate. Sealand promised in turn to hand the found objects to their rightful owners. Sealand however is entitled to be reimbursed for expenses accrued and is assigned exclusive media rights connected with the cultural goods mentioned above.

The excavation proceedings, once started, were stopped however by a massive deployment of police by the Federal Republic of Germany, and the partly freed accesses were filled again.

Why do the authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany prevent the raising of these long-buried treasures to be handed to their rightful owners, the Amber Room for instance to the Russian Federation?

Paintings

Two landscapes that probably were painted by Carl Schuch ( www.cosmopolis.ch/cosmo16/schuch.htm) had been removed during GDR times from a box marked "Schuch" at the locale where the Amber Room is stored. We welcome any information concerning these two paintings on wood, width 25,5 cms, hight 19,5 cms. Further documentations will follow.

Gold Bonds

These and other documents were taken from boxes at the location where parts of the Reichspostschatz (Treasure of the Reich Post Office) are still stored. Most of the Reichspostschatz had been removed during the Summer of 1945 by Americans under General Patton. Further documentations will follow
